Cauthen evolved New World Marketing, Inc. into a diverse consulting and strategic positioning firm staffed by an elite group
of senior executives with over 150 years of combined experience in the insurance and financial services industries.
With broad industry expertise and a network of insurance contacts throughout the country, New World Marketing has completed
numerous consulting engagements focused on product design and development, distribution strategy definition, strategic alliance
development, and marketing communications.

COMPANY 1991-1996
President and Chief Executive Officer
Directed
strategy and operations for subsidiary of American General Corporation. Achieved record growth for 7 consecutive quarters.
Managed growth and acquisitions, attained superior financial ratings and leveraged technology.
Highlights of American General Life’s unprecedented growth in revenues,
productivity, and profitability include:

Directed strategic,
operational, and tactical marketing plans. Redirected company operations and tripled sales production from $35 million to
$135 million, originated first proprietary bank variable annuity that grew to record sales and was used as industry model,
established foundation for strategic alliance with Merrill Lynch and repositioned company through targeted media campaigns.
Implemented $5 + million online communication system.

Directed 120 branch offices of premier life insurance professionals. Coordinated
marketing relationships between producers and six of the country’s largest financial services companies.

Managed four divisional offices and
54 branch offices producing $260 million in new annuity and life premiums. Directed national award programs for offices and
6,500 agencies. Initiated F&G Leadership Clubs for life Managers and Representatives.
THE
TRAVELERS INSURANCE COMPANY 1985 - 1988
Regional Vice President
Managed
sales and marketing operations for five states, including seven regional offices, four state managers, and a total of 500
employees. Produced $380 million in casualty premium and $50 million in life premiums. Improved national paid premium ranking
from fifth to third.
Developed
motivational programs for Policy Processing and Service Departments to improve underwriting, issuance, and collections which
led the Personal and Commercial Service departments to reach 100% of company established guidelines – the only region
to reach this level of efficiency.
Financial Sales Manager 1980 – 1985
Managed statewide sales of life, health, and equity products through independent agents
and brokers. Achieved 200% increase in paid premium production by initiating training programs for staff and distribution
team members. Grew sales volume from $32 million to over $130 million in North Carolina. Tripled sales production in
Delaware from $50 million to $150 million. Raised Travelers’ paid premium ranking from 50th to 5th place.
